This is an important issue that both me & RedPCat need to address regards Classicube. It has come to our attention that AndrewPH, UnknownShadow200 & 123DMWM may be violating Mojangs branding terms.

Here's the guidelines that could be major violations:
- "our "Assets" what we mean is the code, software, graphics, textures, images, models, sound and audio from any of our games and any videos or screenshots taken from or our games."
- "try to make money from anything we've made (including our Names, Brands, and Assets) or let other people get access to anything we've made in a way that is unfair or unreasonable."

Also we are aware of European GDPR breach and some US Laws

We don’t. All versions with textures included use a texture pack made from scratch for classicube. The textures downloaded on first run when you don’t have any are downloaded directly from mojang- not from our servers.

Oh no, you caught us green handed. You found some secret hidden(not secret(not hidden(fully open source)))...string values...

...of the files that are grabbed directly off of the mojang servers. Which makes them, surprise surprise, not redistributed.

but by selling the game on steam that means which im guessing that the same thing is on that version of client so YOU GUYS are the one redistributing

The steam client uses alternate textures

well they are still redistributing the original textures for the linux client at least

The steam, itch.io, and webclient versions are distributed with our own locally sourced assets.
We do not redistribute any Mojang assets. The standalone client, Windows/Mac/Linux/Android,  asks if you want to download them directly from Mojang servers.
Redistributing them would mean that we provide their assets from our own servers, which is not occurring, as it is acquired directly from Mojang to your device.

As said above let other people "get access to... anything we made.. in a unfair or unreasonable way"(paraphrased for stupids) this game made a way to get the minecraft texture for free and that is unreasonable bc u have to buy the game to get minecraft. also you have the original sounds on the singleplayer version accessed from YOUR servers but it was an exact match to the original minecraft sounds, so that is all they need to wipe u guys off the planet!

Why do you still think that we are "illegally" distributing textures if you were literally given proof that we werent

These assets are available on Mojang's servers for anyone to download, regardless of whether or not they own Minecraft. ClassiCube simply links to their servers to grab the assets. They are not providing any redistributions. I don't see how this is so hard to understand.

It is not unfair or unreasonable as they are freely accessible by anyone, unfair would be if they were hidden behind an account system that requires paid access to get the assets, but in this hypothetical situation, we provided a way around that to gain access.
Things like MultiMC/PolyMC/GDLauncher/Mojang Launcher, all access these files the exact same way we do.

I never said anything about you. Kind of suspicious that you assumed I did.

Further discussion isn’t conductive- I’m locking this thread.

We do the equivalent of linking to mojang’s assets, we don’t host any of them nor do we distribute any of them with the client. 
 

Linking to an unauthenticated endpoint hosted by the creators themselves is not redistribution. 
 

Layman speculation isn’t helpful- all commercial copies of the game use entirely original assets, and any mojang assets are downloaded directly from their servers to the end-user’s computer.
