I don't have many games in my new computer right now, and I would like to know any games I could play to decrease my levels of boredom

If you like Sonic then definitely check out the Spark the Electric Jester series. Spark 1 is all 2D, Spark 2 took the series into a 3D direction and Spark 3 heavily refined the gameplay of the previous game. Make sure to keep an eye on Rollin' Rascal during its development as other than Haste that's the only 3D Sonic-like I can think of.

I highly recommend checking out Xonotic, it is a fast-paced action arena shooter similar to Quake. It's also free & open-source.

1. terra nova: strike force centauri - basically mechwarrior 2 but by looking glass (the ultima underworld / system shock / thief people)

2. redaxium - the games like a buck on steam and its a buggy piece of shit but its legitimately a really bizarre and gnarly game. not half bad for a game that you can get for a trading card.

3. marathon trilogy - halo but old

4. copy kitty - i dont really know how to describe this game other than if the structure of super meat boy had the gameplay of contra. really good game.

5. madspace: to hell and beyond - old russian game thats kind of shit but if you have a tolerance for weird, old and janky dos games there is definitely some enjoyment to be had here. same people also did z.a.r which is also not that bad.
