How can I start the Classic64 plugin without getting the Win32 error?

Posted

I'm a Mario fan, and I took the time to create Peach's Castle in ClassicCube. After finishing it, I added my texture pack and it looked amazing! But something was missing: a playable Mario in the ClassicCube world I created. I downloaded the plugin, but it didn't work. It threw up an invalid Win32 error. Even installing the 64-bit or 32-bit version, I always get the same error.

i'm gonna have to spin up a win7 VM and find out why that happens, this sounds strange

do you at least have Service Pack 1 installed?

In short, the plugin doesn't work because I use a toaster. All I know is that I have Service Pack 1. I think it's possible to create a better-optimized version of the mod, knowing that I use a toaster (it's not a toaster, I just call it that because of its small size and components) and that I don't use a graphics card, but an Intel Celeron. Imagine that. Also, the plugin is very comprehensive, so it might never work.

I don't know if you're the creator of the plugin, but could you create a more optimized version? I think my laptop (I use one) can't run the plugin.

yes, i'm the creator.

i think i had once tested this plugin on an even worse 32 bit windows 7 laptop and it worked just fine, so for you to not be able to run it on a 64 bit equivalent is strange, but i'll have a look when i get the chance

Could you check if the plugin works on an Intel Celeron computer? And I'm warning you: I don't speak English,I speak spanish. I use Google Translate. I know some English, but not much. But try to see if it works, bro.

I've found out what the problem is.

I tried a fresh installation of the 32-bit version of ClassiCube. I put the plugin and the ROM inside the folder, and it worked perfectly! Mario was playable, and there were no errors.

The issue appeared the moment I logged into my ClassiCube account. As soon as I signed in, the game instantly crashed with the same error as before.

In summary, the plugin works perfectly on my machine, but it fails when I log into my account

this makes no sense, whether you go on multiplayer or singleplayer shouldn't make a difference on how the game loads the plugin, but glad you got it working nevertheless

I'm using the plugin without an account. Mario can't move. Why is this happening?

are you able to move with the regular human model?

Yes, the human can move, it's Mario who can't move. If I try to move him, the camera simply teleports and returns to its normal state (that is, it doesn't move, it just tries to move). Mario can interact with lava and water, but he can't move.

And no, my account isn't the problem; the plugin only works in WinRAR. Apparently, when I tried adding my Classicube account directly to an unzipped version, it worked. Sorry. I tricked you. And that wasn't my intention.
