Question about modding the client

When it comes to modding ClassiCube, are there any restrictions?
I want to try making a mod to "reimplement"/"rework" c0.0.18a_02 mechanics / a mode to limit the blocks i can place (in any server, even Enhanced ones) to the classic Stone, Dirt, Wooden Planks, Log, Sapling, Sand, and Gravel blocks, would that result in me getting hit with a ban anywhere?

Oh and also the old player animations where they sorta T-Pose.
